Refreshing

March 15, 2024

Just finished Book – 3, and I’m anxiously waiting for Book – 4 to arrive. The Gabriel Chronicles have sparked my imagination more than any novels have in the past. Just great. Flannery’s use of scientific fact, and highly regarded theory, to tell his story, made me feel that this scenario may be possible in the future. Flannery has proved that a science fiction story does not have to include horrible alien monsters and non-stop violence. Very refreshing and inventive.

Certainly "Novel" books

August 29, 2023

What a unique and interesting way of telling a story. Very clever plot, and dialog. The way Flannery introduces advanced technology that is used to achieve the plot’s goal, is very interesting. I’ve read the first four books and hope there’s a fifth coming.

It's one big book

February 23, 2023

After reading the 4th novel in this series, it occurred to me that The Gabriel Chronicles is just one really big book. I totaled the pages of the four and came up with 1446 pages. War and Piece is 1225 pages. Whoa! The fact that I actually read all four novels suggests that the “;Big” book was worth the time it took to read them. I hope Flannery writes a fifth.

A SAGA FOR OUR TIMES

February 18, 2023

Right from the start this story pulls you in, begging the question- what would you do with unlimited resources? Instead of your now typical, dystopian view of our future, Flannery does the unusual, and moves in a positive direction when addressing the issues we face globally. How refreshing! These are woven into an engaging journey from Earth to the outer reaches of the cosmos. Space exploration, terra-forming, trans-humanism and other themes are all part of this gripping saga. Flannery is even willing to go there, and introduce the (modern taboo) notion of Sharkra, with thoughtful respect for the reader, and a surprising and fitting end to this wonderful four book series! I agree with another review that stated it would make for a great movie or mini-series.

A very mind expanding story.

February 15, 2023

I’m always looking for a new author. At a suggestion from my sister, I tried Dennis Flannery. I read the first book of the Gabriel Chronicles and just started the second of the four-book series. I’m pleased to report I have a new author. I Highly recommend this guy. Great!

Holy Hell!

February 12, 2023

Over the past two months, I’ve read all four Gabriel Chronicles. My thought, after reading the first in the series was, this would make a great movie. But after reading the fourth book, I changed my mind. Way, way too much story for a two-hour movie. But these novels would make a fabulous mini-series. I’m surprised Netflix or Amazon haven’t picked them up. Great story.

The Gabriel Chronicles Book 4 Sharkra

February 8, 2023

Once again Dennis has produced another thought-provoking book in the Gabriel Chronicles series.

Since time immemorial humans have created gods to explain the unexplainable. Dennis has introduced a benevolent supreme being called the Sharkra as the creator and controller of the universe.

I have all four books in the Gabriel Chronicle series. Dennis has a wonderful imagination and I have enjoyed reading his fourth book in the series.

Science Fiction - 5 Star Read!

February 5, 2023

I can’t imagine how challenging it was to tackle the fourth installment of this delightful series, but I do know that Dennis Flannery did it with a finesse only a talented author like himself could. After reading his first three Gabriel books, I was eager to get my hands on the fourth to see how Dennis’s keen imagination would connect all these interesting characters together. It did not disappoint and I was taken away on another journey through a future I could have never imagined. I loved the positive tone, the introduction of Sharkra and the surprise ending. I won’t speak too much more as I don’t want to give anything away. I re-read the first three books knowing the fourth was coming, but Dennis does a great job reintroducing the characters and providing a bit of history. It could stand on its own, but I enjoyed starting my journey from the beginning. These four books are now part of our permanent library. Enjoy the journey as Dennis takes you for an unforgettable ride!

Pulled out a book from a friend’s bookshelf. Read the cover and it seemed interesting. Friend said I could borrow it. I did, I read it, I really liked it. I returned it and borrowed the second one in the series.

I have a new author to read.

Science fiction?

January 21, 2023

Actually, I am a Sc-fi fan, and I just finished the first book in this series. I don’t know why this book is called science fiction. It has little science fiction, save a chapter or two, but quite an interesting story. I’m on the fence about reading the second book in the series.

Surprised

January 20, 2023

Well, what a pleasant surprise. My daughter lent me her copy of the Gabriel Chronicles, the first one. Took me 2 weeks before I started reading it but, after starting, I couldn’t put it down. Great!

Now, I’m waiting for her to finish the second one.

Science fiction?

January 19, 2023

I have never been a fan of science fiction, but a buddy handed me The Gabriel Chronicles, Book 1. “You’ll like this”, he said. I was pleasantly surprised at the lack of crazy fiction. I really enjoyed the way the author put together mind expanding scenarios while telling a really fine story. My friend was right, I liked it. I have just ordered the second book in the series.

January 17, 2023

I’ve had several friends tell me about The Gabriel Chronicles. So, I just read Book – 1, the e-book version. My friends told me true. A lot of food for thought. It was great. Now on to Book 2.

Big fan

January 12, 2023

I started reading Flannery’s novels over ten years ago and, thanks to his new website, I can finally write a review. Flannery’s first three novels expanded my mind and imagination through his strong characters and fascinating story telling. I have just finished reading the fourth in the series, book 4 –; Sharkra. The premise was incredible and put a big smile on my face. What a wonderful end to this imaginative series.

The Gabriel Chronicles

January 11, 2023

I’ve read the first three books in this series and love them all! They were interesting, fun, thought provoking. I’ve purchased the 4th book, Sharkra, and will review that book as well when I’ve finished it. Highly recommend these books…fascinating reading!!

The Gabriel Chronicles

January 10, 2023

I have just finished reading The Gabriel Chronicles, Book 4 “Sharkra”, and I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed it. I followed the wonderful characters that Flannery developed in the first three novels as they coped with new and highly imaginative scenarios. Book 4 introduces a theory that never would have crossed my mind. Wow! The theory should cause a lot of conversation around the water cooler. All four novels had mind expanding scenarios that I found very refreshing.
